Turkey: Industrial production returns to growth in August
Latest reading: Industrial production rose 0.5% in seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms in August, following a 1.7% fall in the prior month.
Relative to the previous month’s data, readings in August improved for manufacturing (+0.7% on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis vs -2.2% in July) and mining and quarrying (-0.1% vs -0.5% in July). In contrast, the reading for energy softened in August (-2.6% vs +4.5% in July).
In annual terms, industrial production rose 7.2% in August, following a 5.1% rise in the prior month.
