Trading Technologies is now offering clients direct access to GFO-X, the UK’s regulated exchange for crypto derivatives, as demand grows for centrally cleared trading of digital assets.
The move comes just weeks after GFO-X went live on May 9 with Bitcoin index futures and options. The venue, backed by LCH’s DigitalAssetClear, caters to institutions looking to trade crypto products with the same standards they expect in traditional markets.
With the integration, TT users can trade GFO-X products through familiar tools — including the platform’s execution algos, APIs, and charting features.
“There’s rising global interest among our institutional clients to get into digital assets,” said Alun Green, EVP and managing director of futures and options at TT. “This link gives them access to a fully regulated and centrally cleared venue.”
GFO-X CEO Arnab Sen said the partnership helps connect digital asset markets to the systems many institutional traders already use. “We are pleased to partner with Trading Technologies to bring high-performance access to GFO-X. The integration allows market participants to benefit from TT’s advanced execution capabilities while trading on a fully regulated venue, helping us provide seamless access and deep liquidity in the digital asset derivatives market,” he added.
The first trade on GFO-X — between Virtu Financial and IMC — was cleared by LCH shortly after launch. The exchange says it plans to grow its product list as more institutions move into crypto derivatives.
The rollout of GFO-X follows the FCA’s decision in March to end a ban it imposed in 2020 on crypto derivatives for institutional investors. That move has opened the door for a new wave of financial infrastructure built around digital assets.
Major banks including ABN AMRO, Nomura, and Standard Chartered are supporting GFO-X by providing clearing services for trades on the platform.
Trading Technologies, which processed over 2.8 billion derivatives transactions in 2024, remains one of the most widely used platforms for futures and options. Clients can leverage TT’s full suite of features, including execution algorithms, charting, and analytics, in their trading on GFO-X.
