Switzerland: Retail sales fall at sharpest rate since September 2024 in May
Latest reading: Retail sales fell 0.6% month-on-month in seasonally adjusted terms in May (April: -0.2% mom). The result marked the worst reading since September 2024. May’s reading largely reflected a deterioration in food, beverages, and tobacco and automotive fuel sales.
On an annual basis, retail sales was flatin May (April: +0.9% yoy), the worst result since June 2024.
