Luxembourg: Harmonized inflation ticks up in July

Latest reading: Harmonized inflation rose to 2.6% in July, above June’s 2.4%. July’s figure represented the highest inflation rate in a year. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food, hospitality and recreation rose at a faster rate in July, while prices for transportation dropped at a faster rate.

The trend was unchanged, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at June’s 1.7% in July. Meanwhile, consumer price inflation ticked up to 2.3% in July from the previous month’s 2.2%.

Finally, harmonized consumer prices fell 0.29% over the previous month in July, contrasting June’s 0.27% increase. July’s result marked the weakest reading since November 2024.
