Indonesia: Retail sales growth speeds up in September
Latest reading: Retail sales increased 5.8% on a year-on-year basis in September, following a 3.5% increase in the prior month.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, readings in September improved for food, beverages, and tobacco (+7.3% on a year-on-year basis vs +4.8% in August), information and communication equipment (-27.2% vs -28.9% in August) and cultural and recreation goods (+4.0% vs +2.5% in August). In contrast, readings worsened for motor vehicles, parts and accessories (+10.9% vs +11.3% in August) and automotive fuels (+10.3% vs +11.7% in August).
