Angola: Inflation ebbs in October from September

Latest reading: Consumer prices increased 17.4% in annual terms in October, following an 18.2% rise in the previous month and marking the lowest reading in two years.

Relative to the prior month’s figures, there were milder price pressures for food and beverages (+17.8% in annual terms vs +18.5% in September), transport (+20.4% vs +21.4% in September), health (+20.9% vs +22.1% in September) and clothing (+17.0% vs +18.4% in September). In contrast, price pressures were higher for housing, water, electricity and fuel in October (+16.5% vs +16.2% in September).

Lastly, consumer prices rose 0.93% in October on a month-on-month basis, following a 1.01% increase in the previous month.
