Thomas Murray has launched a Digital Asset Custodian Monitoring service to provide financial institutions with structured risk oversight across digital asset custody operations.
The move follows the company’s entry into digital markets in 2021 and expands its traditional post-trade risk framework into digital asset infrastructure.
Risk-based custodian selection and evaluation
The new DACM platform monitors custodians across five risk areas: cyber security, asset safety, asset servicing, operational risk, and financial stability. It supports risk-based custodian selection and evaluation, continuous monitoring, and real-time alerts, which offer comparative benchmarks and help institutions respond to evolving regulatory scrutiny.
The company stated that DACM already covers over 40 digital custodian groups, including fintechs and traditional banks, offering institutions access to integrated risk assessments and cybersecurity data through Thomas Murray’s Orbit Security solution.

The company’s platform is designed to help institutions navigate digital asset growth, with tokenized markets expected to reach US$30 trillion by 2034. DACM extends Thomas Murray’s historical expertise in monitoring custodians and financial market infrastructures to a sector that is still lacking mature supervisory practices.
Thomas Murray positions this offering as part of a broader evolution of its service portfolio, reinforcing its ability to help clients evaluate and monitor not only custodians but also their critical third parties.
