The Attorney General of Florida is launching an investigation into the banking giant JPMorgan Chase over alleged de-banking operations.
Florida AG James Uthmeier says the state believes the bank was complicit with the Biden Administration’s “shadow” de-banking of political adversaries, such as the Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG).
“We now know Biden officials went after their political enemies. It’s come to our attention that JPMorgan de-banked Trump Media Group, a Florida-based company, right before the business went public…
In addition, we’re aware that that JPMorgan bank solicited tons of information from Trump Media unrelated to their business practices, and we believe provided sensitive banking information to the Department of Justice (DOJ) without probable cause. This is wrong, we will not tolerate it, and we will hold them accountable.”
According to Uthmeier, Biden was coordinating with Jack Smith – a high-ranking member of the DOJ at the time – as a part of Operation Arctic Frost, an investigation launched by the US government into the alleged “fake electors” scheme of the 2020 election.
Uthmeier goes on to unveil the letter sent to JPMorgan Chase, in it detailing the allegations against the bank.
“It is our understanding that TMTG established a banking relationship with JPMC in Florida, shortly after incorporating. On March 28, 2023, Biden’s Justice Department subpoenaed JPMC for ‘[a]ny and all records’ of TMTG, including records covering a time period before TMTG existed.
Almost immediately after the Biden DOJ’s fishing expedition began vis a vis TMTG, JPMC began questioning TMTG officials about, inter alia, its transactions from years prior. JPMC insisted this fact-gathering was merely ‘due diligence.’
These inquiries, however, appear to be pretextual and unrelated to their stated purpose. Immediately after TMTG closed a merger in March 2024, JPMC notified TMTG that it was closing its bank accounts. The timing of this activity and JPMC’s termination of its business relationships with TMTG raise obvious, troubling questions.”
