21X has announced a strategic partnership with Digital Investment Securities (DIS) to advance the institutional adoption of tokenized securities. The Frankfurt-based digital exchange will work with DIS to scale access to blockchain-based investment products across regulated asset classes.
DIS will serve as a strategic advisor to 21X, supporting corporate development and product expansion. The collaboration aims to streamline access for investment managers and allocators to tokenized money markets, UCITS, real-world assets, and alternative funds through a compliant, digital-native platform.
21X Operates the First Licensed DLT Trading and Settlement System
Max Heinzle, Chief Executive Officer of 21X, commented, “As 21X leads the development of regulated market infrastructure for tokenized assets, we are excited to partner with DIS to accelerate the adoption of digital securities across institutional and investment markets. Backed by decades of experience working with global asset managers and allocators, DIS has successfully built and scaled global investment platforms. Their strategic insight, deep industry relationships, and proven ability to execute make them an ideal partner with 21X to drive the next phase of growth in the digital securities business.”
21X operates the first licensed DLT Trading and Settlement System (DLT TSS) under the EU DLT Pilot Regime. Its infrastructure offers a regulated blockchain-native environment designed for issuing, trading, and settling digital securities. Through this partnership, DIS plans to integrate its institutional network into the 21X ecosystem, enabling real-time settlement, automated compliance, and a streamlined issuance process.
John Linnehan, Head of Strategic Relationships at DIS, said, “Together, we’re building the infrastructure that institutional investors have been waiting for – compliant, automated, and built for scale. Partnering with the team at 21X enables us to take advantage of a truly integrated platform for tokenized securities that bridges traditional asset management with the efficiency of blockchain technology. Together, we’re not just digitizing products, we’re transforming how investment strategies are built, distributed, and traded. As capital markets evolve, DIS and 21X are uniquely positioned to lead the digital future of finance and fund management – helping investment managers and financial institutions modernize operations, reduce costs, and unlock new sources of capital through blockchain-powered markets.”
21X secured its DLT TSS license in December 2024 and provides infrastructure for tokenized stocks, bonds, and funds. Its fully regulated system supports smart contract-based issuance, trading, and settlement, positioning the company as a central player in the shift toward digital finance in Europe.
